Changing the brake fluid

Changing the brake fluid

1. Drain the brake fluid reservoir using the bleeder unit (part no. 88 19 096).

2. Fill with new brake fluid.

3. Connect the topping-up unit (supplied in brake bleeding kit 88 19 096) to the brake fluid reservoir.

Position a hose with one end in the topping-up unit and the other end in a bottle filled with new brake fluid.

4. Lift the car and connect the suction pump hose to the bleed nipple on the front left wheel.

Siphon off the brake fluid until the new fluid arrives. Repeat this method on the remaining wheels in the following sequence: front right wheel, rear left wheel and rear right wheel.

5. Lower the car and remove the rubber fitting, hose and bottle.

6. Adjust the quantity of the brake fluid.

7. Check brake operation.
