Model year 1994 Saab 900 cars with manually adjustable driver's seat.

Background

It has been found in certain cases that short drivers cannot obtain a comfortable driving position.

For this reason a pedal raising kit has been developed. The kit is stocked as a spare part and should be fitted as described in the instructions below. This pedal raising kit does not prevent tall persons from obtaining a comfortable driving position.

All kits contain pedal-raising components for all pedals, templates for drilling holes, and M6 bolts and locknuts.

Action

To fit




1. Remove the pedal rubbers from all pedals.

2. Use the hole-drilling templates supplied with the pedal raising kit (and which are included in this SI) and fasten them to the pedals with a piece of adhesive tape, for instance. Mark the positions of the holes and drill the holes at right angles to the pedal plate using a 7 mm diameter bit.


3. Fit all pedal rubbers.

Note

On RHD cars with automatic transmission it may be necessary to cut away the protruding piece of rubber on the side of the brake pedal to obtain a proper fit.


4. Secure the pedal plate in place by means of the M6 bolts and locknuts.


Tightening torque: 9.5 Nm (7 lbf ft)
