SRS lamps

The SRS warning lamp is made in two versions: one for cars without a central warning lamp and one for cars with a central warning lamp.

On cars without a central warning lamp, two bulbs are fitted behind the SRS symbol in the main instrument unit. Both bulbs light up when the ignition switch is turned to the Drive position for a functionality check. If no fault is detected, the bulbs go out after 3-4 seconds. If a fault is detected, both bulbs flash for five minutes and then remain on continuously.

On cars with a central warning lamp, there is one bulb behind the SRS symbol and the other bulb is replaced by the central warning lamp. In the event of a fault, the bulb behind the SRS symbol starts flashing at the same time as the central warning lamp comes on and remains on continuously. After five minutes the SRS lamp also remains on continuously.

SRS lamp power supply

The SRS-1 lamp is supplied with current via fuse 18 and grounded by the control module via pin 5.

The SRS-2 lamp/central warning lamp is supplied with current via fuse 24 and the main instsrument unit and grounded by the control module via pin 1.

If the control module connector is unplugged, the lamps will be grounded to connector pin 3 via the short-circuit contacts and come on continuously.
