Procedure

First check box B2 on the modification identity plate to see whether the car has already been modified.

The modification is to be carried out on both rear doors. The method of mounting the plate on the LH rear door is described below. The method is the same for the RH rear door.

1. Remove the door trim.

2. Remove the moisture barrier.

3. Cut out the drilling template.

4. Position the drilling template as follows:

4.a. Hold the template in place and align it with the aid of the marks for the door lock's three torx screws.

4.b. Press a torx screwdriver through the template and into the screws when the marks on the template are aligned with the screws.

4.c. Fasten the template in place with adhesive tape.

5. Mark the position of the hole to be drilled.

6. Remove the template and check the position of the mark by measuring the distances as shown.

7. Mark the position of the hole with a centre punch.

8. Drill the hole using a 6.5 mm bit.

9. Deburr the edges of the hole.

10. Use a vacuum cleaner to remove drillings, etc. from the door.

11. Apply Terotex HV 400 cavity sealant to the edges of the hole.

12. To reduce the risk of rattling, stick butyl tape to that part of the reinforcement plate that will abut against the collision member.

13. Fit the reinforcement plate in place and tighten it with the nut and bolt supplied in the kit.

14. Apply Terotex HV 400 cavity sealant to the reinforcement plate.

15. Refit the moisture barrier.

16. Refit the door trim.

17. Carry out points 1-16 on the RH rear door.

Marking of the modification identity plate

The modification identity plate must be marked in box B2 with a "7" if the modification has been carried out by the importer and with an "8" if done by a dealer.
