Important
Use protective gloves and goggles when working with refrigerants. Frostbite could occur if skin or eyes come into contact with the refrigerant.
The use of special equipment for draining and filling is described in the following pages. This equipment has been developed for handling R134a refrigerant.
For information about the equipment, consult the manufacturer's manuals.
Remember to drain compressor oil from the draining stations at regular intervals (after every fourth draining is about right).
Important
Under no circumstances whatsoever must the draining and filling equipment for R134a refrigerant be used for R12 refrigerant, and vice versa.
Only small amounts of the wrong refrigerant or the wrong compressor oil will give rise to chemical reactions, which in the long run will ruin both the equipment and the car's AC system.
