Locks

Locks

Standard equipment includes a central locking system with anti-theft lock which may in turn have an anti-theft alarm.

The outside handles on the front doors are in the form of a lift/grip handle with integrated lock cylinder.

The door lock on the driver's side has two locking positions, a normal position and a dead-bolt position. In this position the anti-theft alarm, if fitted, is activated and all locks are prevented from operating. The door cannot be opened by raising the locking button.

The rear-door locks are fitted with a child safety catch.

Keys

It is a security and insurance requirement that the car key cannot be copied or identified if it is lost, stolen or mislaid. Three keys are supplied with the car, one of which is intended to be kept in the owner's purse or wallet.

For identification of the keys up to the time the car is delivered to the owner, the serial number of the key is marked on a tab on the key ring. Once a note of the serial number has been made in the car's identification documents, the tab should be destroyed.
