Background |
A customer complaint of a leaking sunroof or wet headliner may be caused by several things. Please make certain when diagnosing this complaint that you:
• |
check that none of the sunroof drains are blocked
|
• |
check that the o-ring at the sunroof channel drain tube is properly aligned
|
• |
check that the sunroof glass seal is indeed sealed and not allowing water past the seal
|
If you should find in your investigation that the o-ring at the sunroof channel drain tube is not properly seated and cannot be properly re-seated, or is damaged, you must replace it.

Follow instructions in Service Manual 8:1 Body, body repairs, to remove the sunroof drain tubes and fit a new o-ring.

To resolve a customer complaint for a vehicle in warranty, please submit a claim using the following information:
Failure code: 81293-50-3/4 or 5-01/06-01.
Labor operation: 81290 (R & R drain tube nipple) front (one side) for 0.5 hr. Add 0.2 hr. in straight time if both sides are needed.
Labor operation: 81291 (R & R drain tube nipple) rear (one side) for 0.5 hr. Add 0.2 hr. in straight time if both sides are needed.
Straight time: 0.2 hr. (water test).
