’O’rings generating drivability problems
|
Saab 900 M94 onwards with naturally aspirated 4-cylinder engines
(B204i/B206i/B234i).
If the ’O’ rings between the resonator and the throttle body have
been fitted incorrectly so that they are not seated properly, the engine can draw in air that has
not passed through the mass air flow sensor. This can give rise to drivability problems with
implications for fault diagnosis.
When any work is done that involves removing the resonator from the throttle
body, the following steps must always be taken:
•
|
Check the condition of the ’O’ rings and
that they are properly seated. Replace any that are deformed.
|
•
|
Grease the ’O’ rings with acid-free petroleum jelly.
