Temporary idle speed increase |
Safety-related campaign 10294 |
Cars in stock must be remedied before delivery. A personal communication must be sent to the owners of cars already delivered requesting them to get in touch with the nearest Saab garage as soon as possible to have the fault rectified.
Cars concerned |
Saab 900 2.3i M95 with manual gearbox or automatic transmission (in Sweden this MI only concerns cars with automatic transmission) equipped with A/C or ACC and having the following chassis numbers: S2000001-S2020094, inclusive, and S7010001-S7016141, inclusive.
Background |
Idling speed on some cars increases drastically a couple of seconds after starting. This increase in idling speed may continue for up to about 30 seconds. It persists even if gear position R or D is selected on cars with automatic transmission. In these cases idling speed drops from about 3000 rpm to about 1500 rpm. Extra heavy pressure on the brake pedal is then needed to prevent the car from moving off.
The engine management system's control module must therefore be changed.
