Front exhaust pipe (B206i/B234i)

Disconnect the oxygen sensor's cables, undo the cable clamp and the clip and lift up the car.
Important
|
Do not twist the cables. The oxygen sensor is sensitive to blows and impacts and must be handled with care.

Remove the oxygen sensor.
|
3.
|
Undo the joint between the front exhaust pipe and the intermediate pipe.
|
4.
|
Unscrew the front exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold.
|
5.
|
Remove the screw from the securing point and remove the exhaust pipe.
|

Fit the screw which holds the exhaust pipe to the engine, but do not tighten it.

3.
|
Insert the front exhaust pipe and screw it on to the exhaust manifold.
Turning torque 40 Nm (30 lbf ft).
|
4.
|
Tighten the screw which holds the exhaust pipe to the securing point on the engine.
Turning torque 40 Nm (30 lbf ft).

5.
|
Bolt together the joint under the car.
Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 lbf ft).
|
6.
|
Refit the oxygen sensor. Lubricate the threads with Molycote 1000 prior to fitting.
Tightening torque 55 Nm (41 lbf ft).
Important
|
The oxygen sensor is sensitive to blows and impacts and must be handled with care. It is important that the connection between the oxygen sensor and the nipple is impervious to gas.

|
Lower the car to the floor.
|
8.
|
Reconnect the oxygen sensor's cables and refit the cable clamp and the clip.
