Injectors


To remove

To avoid unnecessarily high wastage of fuel during work, the fuel system must be run dry as follows: start the engine and remove fuse 32 during the time the engine is running. Do not switch off the ignition until the engine has stopped.


1. Take off the engine cover.

2. Disconnect the hose for crankcase ventilation and the idle air control valve with hoses.

3. Remove the dipstick bracket and the throttle and cruise control cables.

4. Remove the 2 bolts for the cable groove and the 2 screws for the fuel- injection rail.


5. Carefully lift up the fuel-injection rail with the injectors.

Make sure you have paper or something similar to hand to soak up fuel that escapes from the fuel-injection rail/injectors.

6. Remove the two fixing rails and unplug the connectors from the injectors.

7. Remove the mounts securing the valves to the fuel-injection rail and pull out the injectors.


To fit

Fitting is carried out in the reverse order.

Note

Lubricate the "O" rings with petroleum jelly to ease fitting.




Important

Check that the correct connector is connected to the right injector (marked on the wiring).
