With the electrically heated rear window activated, disconnect its contacts. Take
readings as follows:
|
• |
A 12 V supply should be present between one of the
contacts and a good grounding point. Check the grounding of the electrically heated rear
window as follows:
|
• |
The resistance should be < 1 ohm between the other contact and a good
grounding point.
|
5. |
If the readings taken in point 4 are not OK, connect a jumper lead between
connector pins 30 and 87 of the relay holder for the electrically heated rear window.
If the electrically heated rear window now works, change the relay. If it does not, check the wiring between relay connector pin 87 and the electrically heated rear window for continuity/shorting. |
