The ICE module continuously monitors the coolant temperature. To reduce the load at high engine temperatures (and so protect the engine from overheating), the A/C compressor is switched off when engine temperature exceeds 126°C (259°F).
If the engine temperature is lower than 126°C (259°F), battery positive voltage is supplied from ICE module pin 11 to the engine control module via a pressure switch and anti-frost thermostat. When the conditions for A/C engagement prevail, the engine control module grounds the A/C relay.
