Bulb filament check


1. If in proper working order, the message "FRONTLIGHT FAILURE" will appear on the SID unit display in the event of bulb failure in any lamp.


If the BLACK PANEL is activated the display should light up.

2. Connect a Scan Tool and select the "READ VALUES" menu and then "INPUT SIGNALS".


3. Remove a headlamp bulb and see whether the message appears on the SID unit display and also on the Scan Tool, but with an additional "ON". If the correct message is displayed, but not in normal operation, change the filament monitor.

4. If the correct message is not displayed, connect a BOB to the SID unit and check the wiring for continuity/shorting between terminal C2 of the filament monitor and pin 4 of the SID unit.



Important

If a message is always displayed on the SID unit, check the filament monitor's grounding cable.
