Handling control modules
Handling control modules |
• |
Avoid removing or disconnecting
the control module unless absolutely necessary.
|
• |
Never touch the connecting pins and never position the control module in such a
way that the connecting pins come into contact with foreign objects.
|
• |
Before unpacking a new control module, ground the packaging to the car body
and open it as shortly as possible before fitting the control module in the car.
|
• |
When carrying out work involving a control module it is important to ground
yourself at regular intervals. This is particularly important if you have been sitting in the car, if
you have changed position or moved round the car. It is even more important in climatic
conditions with very dry air (such as during the winter in cold-climate markets).
|
• |
Avoid wearing clothes made of synthetic (man-made) materials.
|
• |
Avoid wearing shoes with insulating rubber soles.
|
• |
Always handle any control module suspected of being faulty in the same way as
a control module in perfect working order. This will considerably increase your likelihood of
finding the cause of the fault.
