BLACK PANEL (MIU 2)

BLACK PANEL (MIU 2)

When the BLACK PANEL button on the SID unit is pressed, the SID unit sends a "BLACK PANEL ON" signal to pins 3 and 4 of the main instrument display panel.

The main instrument display panel then switches off the instrument and display lighting.

The rev counter, turbo pressure gauge and temperature gauge needles move to zero when the lighting has been extinguished.

Only the speedometer remains illuminated although all indicator and warning lamps retain their normal operation.

In the event of engine over-revving, fuel running low, engine overheating and excessive boost pressure the relevant gauges and warning lights return to normal operation.

If the BLACK PANEL button is pressed once again the SID unit will send a "BLACK PANEL OFF" signal to the main instrument display panel, with the result that all instruments first return to normal indication and then the lighting is switched on.
