Check
the function of the remote control
The driver door should be closed. Connect the scan tool. Select "READ VALUES". Select "CONTROL". Press the left-hand/right-hand button whilst checking the scan tool display. The scan tool should show "LH BUTTON" and "RH BUTTON" respectively, and "NO BUTTON" in the normal position. If the scan tool display is correct for left-hand/right-hand buttons, proceed to point 5. If not, proceed to point 2. |

Check using a new remote control
Program the remote control. Repeat scan tool commands as point 1. If this works, proceed to point 3. If not, proceed to point 4 |

Check the old remote
control
Change the batteries, and check if it is working. Repeat scan tool commands as point 1. If it does not work, change the remote control. |

Check if the remote control is working

Hold the remote control as close to the control module as possible and repeat the scan tool commands as in point 1. If the scan tool display is correct for left-hand/right-hand buttons, unplug the control module and check to see if the antenna contact pins in the connector are loose. If a visual control reveals no fault, try changing the antenna. If the scan tool display is incorrect, proceed to point 6. |

Check the breaker on the driver
door
Select "DRIVER DOOR" Open and close the driver door. The ISAT scan tool should display "OPEN" and "CLOSED" respectively. If the scan tool display is correct, proceed to point 6. If not, proceed to "Fault diagnosis, door indication, driver door". |

Final test
Check to see if the fault symptom remains. |
