An LED is mounted in the centre of the dashboard to indicate the status of the anit-theft alarm. It is controlled via the control unit (pin 2) and flashes (at varying frequency) or is on continuously, depending on different conditions. Some normal cases are shown in the table below.
Self diagnostics |
Each time the alarm is armed, a self diagnostic test is conducted during the delay period (10 sec) while the LED is lit. If a fault is revealed, a diagnostic trouble code is stored in the control module and the LED flashes once every second. Other alarm functions are not affected.
