Checking hydraulic pressure

/ 900 / 1995 / 4. Transmission / Automatic transmission / Fault diagnosis on basis of fault symptoms / Checking hydraulic pressure

Important

Important

This test must not take longer than 5 seconds! Checking is not recommended for the turbo version.

1.	Remove the test plug from the transmission casing and connect an oil pressure gauge.

2.	Chock all four wheels on the car.

3.	Apply the handbrake fully.

4.	Press the brake pedal down hard.

5.	Start the engine and check the idling speed ( 6-cyl: 800 rpm 4-cyl: 900 rpm). Outlet Idling Stall speed C1 4.0 bar 12.0 bar C2 0 bar 0 bar

6.	Move the selector lever to position D and check the system pressure as indicated in the table.

7.	Move the selector lever to position R and check the system pressure as indicated in the table. Outlet Idling Stall speed C1 0 bar 0 bar C2 6.7 bar 18.0 bar
