   Shifting, N-D

When the selector lever is moved from N to D, the transmission temporarily selects 3rd gear in order to make the shift as smooth as possible.

This gear-shifting compensation is performed on condition that:

      | 1. | The brake light switch is activated.

 |

      | 2. | The throttle is closed.

 |

      | 3. | Shifting is carried out from N to D.

 |

      | 4. | The speed of the car is below 5 km/h.

 |

      | 5. | The gear-shifting program selected is NORMAL or SPORT.

   Shifting, N-D and N-R

When the selector lever is moved to 1, 2, 3 or D from P, R or N, or to R from any other position, the transmission control module sends a signal to the engine control module requesting it to retard the ignition and so reduce the torque of the engine in order to prevent jerky or abrupt shifting.

A condition for this to occur is that the throttle opening is less than 20%%.
