     Diagnostic procedure
    
    
     1 Check the lamp
    
    
      
    
    
   
   
  
    
  
  
  
   
   
  
  
  
   
    
     
      | - | Connect the diagnostic tool.

   Does the lamp work?
  
  
  
   
    Continue with step 3.
    
    
   
  
  
  
  
   
    Change the bulb, see Service Manual 3:5 "Electrical system, main instrument unit" and continue with step 2.
    
    
   
  
  
  
   2 Check the wiring
  
  
    Check the wiring between pin 7 of the transmission control module and pin 6 (low spec.) or pin 42 (high spec.) of the main instrument display panel for continuity or shorting.
  
  
  
   Check the wiring between pin 7 of the transmission control module and pin 6 (low spec.) or pin 42 (high spec.) of the main instrument display panel for continuity or shorting.
   
   
   
    Is the wiring harness OK?
   
   
   
    
     Continue with step 3.
     
     
    
   
   
   
   
    
     Repair or replace the wiring and continue with point 3.
     
     
    
   
   
   
    3 Final check
   
  
  
   Check the lamp with the diagnostic tool.
   
   
   
    Does the lamp work?
