Adaptation of gear selector movement sensor sensitivity
The gear selector movement sensor voltage is 2.5 ± 0.33 V when the gear lever is not touched, i.e. when the driver leaves the gear lever alone. So that declutching will take place when the gear lever is moved forwards or rearwards with the same force, the control module records the exact sensor voltage when the gear lever is not touched.
1.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
2.
Select the "READ FUNCTIONS" menu and then "GEAR LEVER SENSOR" in the Scan tool diagnostics instrument. Check that the voltage is 2.17-2.83 V when the gear lever is not touched. If the voltage is different, the gear selector movement sensor must be changed, see
.
3.
Check that the gear lever gaiter is correctly fitted and not squashed.
4.
Put the gear lever in neutral.
5.
Start the engine and run it at idling speed for 8 minutes without touching the gear lever.
6.
Take the car on a test drive.
