Engine load
Engine load |
The Trionic engine management system sends an engine load signal to pin 15 of the control module. This is a PWM signal of a frequency that is proportional to engine speed, about 30 Hz at idling speed and about 85 Hz at 2500 rpm. The pulse duration of the signal represents the engine load. At idling speed the pulse duration is about 25 µs and at 2500 rpm about 40 µs.
The engine load signal is used for calculating the energy that is lost as a result of clutch slip and results in the message "OVERHEATED CLUTCH" appearing in the side instrument display.
If no signal is present, the "CHECK ACS" warning lamp will light up.
