Input shaft sensor
Input shaft sensor |
The sensor is mounted on the bottom of the gearbox. The sensor sends information about gearbox input rpm to pins 48 and 34 of the control module.
The sensor is of inductive type and generates sinusoidal AC.
Input rpm functions: |
• |
The control module controls clutch engagement according to the speed of the input shaft and engine rpm.
|
• |
To determine whether the gear selected is too high or too low.
|
• |
To determine the load on the clutch, based on engine speed and engine load. If the sensor is defective or in the event of a break in the circuit, the "CHECK ACS" lamp will light up. The fault will not give rise to any noticeable change in system functions. When the car is being driven, the input shaft speed is substituted by the control module which compares the speed of the car with the gear engaged.
Adaptation of the clutch engagement position takes place a maximum of three times each time the car is driven, as follows: |
• |
More than four minutes after the engine has been started
|
• |
Road speed of car = 0
|
• |
Gear lever in neutral
|
• |
Input shaft stationary
