Removal |
1. |
Remove the windscreen wiper
arms on both sides.

2. |
Remove the cover.
|
3. |
Remove the three wiper mechanism securing screws. Lift out the wiper unit.
Unplug the connector.

4. |
Remove the bar attached to the right and left-hand spring struts.
|
5. |
Disassemble the master cylinder.
|
6. |
Remove the two rubber plugs in the cover on top of the false bulkhead panel.
|
7. |
Remove the two brake servo unit securing bolts through the exposed holes.
|
8. |
Disconnect the vacuum hose from the reservoir.
|
9. |
Remove the lower dashboard panel on the right hand side.
|
10. |
Remove the clip and pin from the pedal.
|
11. |
Remove the cruise control unit and turn it to one side.
|
12. |
Disconnect the intake manifold and turn it to one side (V6 only). See service
manual 2:7 Motronic 2.8.1

13. |
Lift out the brake servo holder.
|
14. |
Transfer the mounting and the four nuts.
|
Fitting |
1. |
Correctly position the brake
servo unit. Apply thread locking compound, fit and tighten the two securing bolts.

2. |
Fit the pedal pin and the clips.
|
3. |
Fit the vacuum hose to the reservoir.
|
4. |
Fit the rubber plugs to the cover on top of the false bulkhead panel.
|

Fit the master cylinder. See

6. |
Fit the wiper mechanism with screws and fit the cover.
|
7. |
Fit the windscreen wiper arms.
|
8. |
Fit the cruise control unit.
|
9. |
Fit the intake manifold (V6 only). See service manual 2:7 Motronic 2.8.1

10. |
Bleed the brake system.
|
11. |
Adjust the brake contact and fit the lower dash panel.
|
12. |
Check brake operation.
Depress the brake pedal and check that it does not sink. |
13. |
Check the tightness of all brake pipe
connections.
