Ball joint (replacement of rubber gaiter)

Undo the anti-roll bar nut.
|

Remove the ball joint nut. Use special tool 89 96 696 to press the ball joint stud out of the swivel member.

Remove the ball joint nut and bend the support arm/suspension arm down.
|
4.
|
Remove the locking ring securing the rubber gaiter and remove the gaiter.

Pack the new rubber gaiter with grease of Molycote Longterm 2-78 type.

|
Fit the gaiter and locking ring.
|
3.
|
Press the support arm/suspension arm upwards into the right position and fit the nut on the ball joint. Tighten the nut, using a torque wrench.
Tightening torque: 75 Nm (55.4 lbf ft).

4.
|
Fit the anti-roll bar nut and tighten it, using a torque wrench.
Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.4 lbf ft).
