Inboard universal joint: V6, 2.3i, Turbo
engines and aut. transm.

Clean the outside of the
universal joint. Undo the clips securing
the rubber gaiter and lift away the universal joint housing.

Wipe clean, remove the circlip and pull the joint (spider) off the
shaft. Use a suitable three-arm puller.

3.
|
Peel the rubber gaiter off the drive shaft.
|
4.
|
Wipe the universal joint, the spider and the drive shaft
clean.

Fit the new rubber gaiter on the
drive shaft and secure it with a
new retaining clip.

2.
|
Fit the spider. Make sure that the chamfered end of the spider faces inwards on
the shaft.

|
Pack the universal joint with 175 grammes of Mobile GS57C grease or the
equivalent.
|
5.
|
Assemble the drive shaft and universal joint (spider) housing.
|
6.
|
Fit the rubber gaiter and secure it with a new clip.
