Changing safety components when repairing crashed cars

When repairing crashed cars, it is important that the correct components are checked and changed to avoid any doubt concerning the reliability of the completed repair. These components are listed below.

When repairing a car with detonated airbag, the following components must
always
be changed:

Steering wheel and airbag plus steering column assembly and steering shaft
|

All seat belts in use when the collision occurred
|

Passenger side airbag (where fitted).

Warning

Change all the seat belts if it cannot be determined with certainty, which belts were in use when the collision occurred.
|
The seat belt on the passenger side must always be changed, even if it has not been used. This is because the seat-belt tensioner has been triggered.

The following components must be checked for burn damage and deformation:
