SRS Warning Light Illuminating

It is possible that on some cars the SRS warning light activates and fault codes are registered without any fault in the system. In these cases, the system is functionally unaffected and fault free. This caused by a calibration error in the diagnostic routine within the ECM.

If one of the codes listed below is registered, and is of the intermittent (I) type, the airbag ECM must be replaced with an updated ECM.

Note

NOTE: If the fault is a permanent (P) one, follow the procedure found in Service Manual 8:6 Airbag.

All ECM’s in stock are updated with no change to the part number. An updated ECM has production number ‘’95Txxx” on the label. The ‘’xxx” should read ‘’131” or higher. See Figure.
