Rear-seat belts

To remove


1. Tip the rear seat up, both sections.


2. Five-door cars: Remove the scuff plates for the right-hand and left-hand rear door sills (secured by clips).

3. Remove the belt anchorages on the sides. They are mounted together with the side collision protection devices.

4. Remove the middle belt anchorage.

5. Remove the two rear head restraints.

6. Remove the head restraint mountings from the seat belt member. Use a screwdriver to release the catch inside the sleeve and knock the mounting upwards from below.

7. Remove the middle cover from the seat belt member. It is secured with clips.

8. Remove the locking handle from the 40%%section.

9. Remove the right-hand cover and unhook the cable from the locking lever.

10. Remove the seat-belt member's release handle and disconnect the cable from the handle.

11. Remove the left-hand cover from the seat-belt member.

12. Remove the covers from the seat belts.

13. Remove the belt reel retaining screws.


To fit


Fit in reverse order.

Tightening torque:

Belt reel retaining screws: 38 Nm (28 lbf ft). Floor anchorages: 45 Nm (33 lbf ft).

Note

Take extra care to ensure that the cable runs correctly in the seat-belt member's release handle. Check that the seat- belt member opens and closes properly.
