To remove |

Remove the glove box.

Remove the centre console's side panel.

Cars with an airbag on the passenger's side: Remove the knee guard.
|

Remove the air duct on the floor.
|
5. |
Remove the air duct to the dashboard's side vent.
|

Cars with automatic transmission:

Remove the automatic transmission's control module from the bracket on the bulkhead wall and let it hang from its cables.

Remove the bracket.
|
7. |
Unplug the dashboard wiring. Open the cable ties and bend the cables to one side.
|
8. |
Turn down the carpet and remove the protective cover.
|
9. |
Remove the screws securing the fan control unit (cars with ACC).
|
10. |
Undo the nut securing the anti-freeze thermostat and remove the end cover on the climate control unit. The clips can be broken off to facilitate removal. The end cover can be screwed in place when refitted.

Unplug the connector and remove the anti-freeze thermostat.

To fit |
1. |
Fit the anti-freeze thermostat and plug in the connector.
|
2. |
Connect the anti-freeze thermostat's sensor to the low-pressure pipe, using the clip.
|
4. |
Tighten the nuts securing the anti-freeze thermostat.
|
5. |
Refit the fan control unit and tighten the screws (cars with ACC).
|
6. |
Refit the protective cover.
|
7. |
Plug in the dashboard wiring. Secure the wiring by means of cable ties.

Cars with automatic transmission:

Screw the bracket for the automatic transmission control module to the bulkhead wall.

8.b. |
Fit the control module in the bracket.
|
9. |
Fit the air duct to the dashboard's side vent.
|
10. |
Refit the floor ducts.
|
11. |
Cars with an airbag on the passenger's side: Refit the knee guard and tighten the screws.

12. |
Refit the centre console's side panel.
|
13. |
Refit the glove box and tighten the retaining screws.
