Recirculation and fresh air
1.
Unplug the recirculation motor connector and check the voltage on pins 1 and 2 with recirculation activated and the ignition switched on. A reading of 12 V on pin 1 and 0 V on pin 2 should be obtained.
2.
Switch off recirculation and repeat the above measurement. A reading of 0 V on pin 1 and 12 V on pin 2 should be obtained. Try fitting a new recirculation motor if the readings are OK.
3.
Check the voltage at the rear of the 10-pin connector on the control panel. The recirculation motor should not be connected when the voltage reading is taken.
•
Recirculation should give a reading of 12 V on pin 7 and 0 V on pin 6.
•
Fresh air should give a reading of 12 V on pin 6 and 0 V on pin 7.
4.
Check the leads for continuity/shorting. Take readings across:
•
Pin 6 of the control panel's 10-pin connector and pin 2 of the recirculation motor connector.
•
Pin 7 of the control panel's 10-pin connector and pin 1 of the recirculation motor connector.
5.
If the readings taken as described in point 3 were not OK, try fitting a new pushbutton set.
