Fifth bow motor ratchet

To remove

Operate the soft top so that the fifth bow and soft top cover are standing straight up.

Remove the four ratchet retaining screws from the fifth bow.

Remove the two potentiometer retaining screws and cut off the cable tie. Carefully extract the potentiometer.

Remove the bolt going through the ratchet and lift out the ratchet.

To fit

Put back the ratchet. Turn the link arm so that it comes behind the potentiometer mounting.

Note
Make sure the ratchet is in the same position as before it was removed.

Fit the two bushings and the bolt.

Important
When fitting a new ratchet, the bushings do not need to be fitted as they are already mounted on the ratchet.

Apply threadlocker on the potentiometer screws and fit the potentiometer. Secure the wiring with new cable ties.

Apply threadlocker on the ratchet screws for the fifth bow. Fit the screws.

Connect the diagnostic tool, clear any diagnostic trouble codes and then program the control module. See
