To remove |

Operate the soft top to half open position.

Remove the retaining strip.
|
3. |
Mark out the position for the front rail seal retainer. Then remove the front rail seal and seal retainer.

Do not forget the “concealed” screw.
|
4. |
Detach the roof cloth from the first bow.
|
5. |
Remove the blind rivets or screws securing the front of the headlining and detach the headlining from the first bow.
|
6. |
Drill away the blind rivets securing the cables to the roof cloth.
|
7. |
Remove the tape and drill away the blind rivets or remove the screws securing the cloth bands to the first bow.
|
8. |
Drill away the blind rivets in the first bow mountings on the side rails.
|
9. |
Mark out the position of the screws securing the first bow to the side rails. Remove the screws and lift away the first bow. The screws are secured with threadlocker.

Transfer the following components to the new first bow:

Latches
|

Locating studs
|
2. |
Apply threadlocker to the screws securing the first bow to the side rails.
|
3. |
Position the screws and rivets. Secure the first bow in position and tighten the screws.
|
4. |
Blind rivet the first bow to the side rails.
|
5. |
Blind rivet, or on later versions screw, the base to the first bow.
|
6. |
Pull out the roof cloth wires and blind rivet them.
|
7. |
Blind rivet or screw on the headlining.
|
9. |
Put back the front side seals of the roof as marked. Do not forget the “concealed” screw.
|
10. |
Screw on the retaining strip.
|
11. |
Check and if necessary adjust the locating studs.

Connect the diagnostic tool, clear any diagnostic trouble codes and then program the control module. See
