Principles of adjustment
Principles of adjustment |
The objective for adjusting the components is partly to achieve a good fit between the soft top profile and the side windows, partly to ensure that the soft top, fifth bow and soft top cover all lock without any problems. Adjusting one component or function can affect another component that has already been adjusted. One condition for efficient adjustment and good results is that the work commences from a correctly adjusted starting-point and that adjustment is carried out systematically. The Saab 900 Convertible can be divided into three main adjustment areas:
• |
The soft top cover and its locking arrangement.
|
• |
The soft top and its locking arrangement.
|
• |
The fifth bow and its locking arrangement.
|
Once these areas have been adjusted, the windows and seals are to be adjusted.

A certain procedure must be followed within these three areas. The procedure is specified on the next page with each individual adjustment described in detail on the following pages. |
