13 Soft top does not stop low enough.


A. Has the bottom end position of the main motor been programmed incorrectly?

Reprogram the soft top. See

B. Are the side rail screws loose?

Tighten the screws indicated on the illustration.

v B.1. Remove one screw at a time and apply threadlocker to the screw threads.

v B.2. Tighten the screws.

Tightening torque 23 Nm (17 lbf ft)

C. Side rail resting on main motor - is the balance link bent?

v C.1. The linkage may be bent. Change the balance link.

v C.2. Carry out MI 811-1663 if it has not been done previously.

D. Do the ’’B pillar” hinges hit the main motors when the soft top is lowered?

v D.1. Determine which side is causing the problem.

v D.2. Remove the three 13 mm nuts securing the soft top mechanism to the chassis.

v D.3. Lift up one side of the soft top unit slightly from the luggage compartment. Support it with a block of wood. Be careful of sharp edges and make sure not to damage the edge of the luggage compartment.

v D.4. Undo the four main motor retaining bolts and rotate the motor housing slightly forwards.

v D.5. Tighten the main motor.
