The soft top cover functions as a lid over the lowered soft top and also acts as a seal against the fifth bow when the roof is raised. The cover is locked at both front corners by a locking mechanism located on the inner side plates. Another locking mechanism in the cover locks the fifth bow to the soft top cover mechanism with two securing plates when the roof is raised. There are two rotating covers in the front corners of the soft top cover that open to make room for the rear rails of the soft top mechanism when the roof is raised. These are operated by the fifth bow locking mechanism.
