Fixed side window, 3-door

The side window is screwed to the body and sealed with butyl tape.

Remove the door weatherstrip from the B pillar.

Loosen the B-pillar trim and pull it down along the seat belt.
|
3.

Remove the sill scuff plate.
|
4.
|
Tip the rear-seat cushion forwards so that it stands on edge.
|
5.
|
Fold the rear-seat backrest forwards and remove the rearmost clip securing the side trim.
|
6.
|
Fold the backrest upright again. Remove the rest of the clips and lift out the side trim.
|
7.
|
Remove the weatherstrip from the C-pillar round the luggage compartment opening.
|
8.
|
Remove the C-pillar trim at the side window.
|
9.
|
Fold the headlining down by the side window.
|
10.
|
Remove the nuts securing the side window.
|
11.
|
Fit suckers to the outside of the side window.
|
12.
|
With a helper, press the side window and pull it out. Use a knife to cut through the butyl sealing tape as the window glass comes loose. Take care to avoid damaging the paintwork and the side window's plastic embedment. Wear protective goggles and gloves.

Remove the butyl tape from the body. If the old window is to be refitted, remove the butyl tape from the window as well.

Fit a length of butyl tape round the side window as shown. Use butyl tape having part No. (45) 30 16 755.

3.
|
Fit the window in place and tighten the nuts.
Tightening torque: 3 Nm (2.2 lbf ft)
|
4.
|
Fold the headlining back into place.
|
5.
|
Refit the C-pillar trim.
|
6.
|
Refit the weatherstrip round the tailgate opening.
|
7.
|
Refit the side trim and press the clips into place.
|
8.
|
Fold the rear-seat backrest forwards and press the rear clip into place.
|
9.
|
Fold the backrest upright again.
|
10.
|
Refit the sill scuff plate.
|
11.
|
Refit the B-pillar trim.
|
12.
|
Fit the door weatherstrip back in place on the B pillar.
