Rear door, replacement of window glass

Lower the window fully.
|
2.
|
Remove the door trim. See Service Manual 8:2 "Interior equipment".

3.
|
Remove the plastic water barrier.
|
4.
|
Remove the cover (secured in guides in the guide rail + clips).
|
5.
|
Remove the internal window seal by prying up the lower edge of the seal with a large screwdriver and then pulling it all the way up by hand.
|
6.
|
Remove the external window seal.
|
7.
|
Remove the window frame seal from the rear guide channel and lift it out of the door.
|
8.
|
Loosen the pull bar (located between the door handle and door lock) from the door side and let it hang down.
|
9.
|
Remove the rear guide channel by undoing the retaining screw and angling it out upwards.
|
10.
|
Remove the glass by raising its rear edge and easing it out of the window lift.
|
11.
|
Lift the glass inwards out of the window frame.
|

Fit the glass by angling its front edge and guiding it down onto the window lift.
|
2.
|
Fit the rear guide channel. Press it down in the window opening, angle it down into position above the pull bars and screw it in place.
|
3.
|
Press the pull bar in place between the door handle and door lock.
|
4.
|
Press the window frame seal down onto the rear guide channel. Rub petroleum jelly (Vaseline) into the rear of the seal.
|
5.
|
Fit the internal window seal by pressing it into place by hand. It may be necessary to use a rubber mallet.
|
6.
|
Fit the external window seal.
|
7.
|
Fit the cover, pressing it into place by hand.
|
8.
|
Fit the water barrier.
|
9.
|
Fit the door trim. See Service Manual 8:2 "Interior equipment".
