oil filter adapter housing

Cars in stock should be remedied before delivery.
Owners of cars already delivered must be informed of the fault by means of a personal
communication requesting them to get in touch with their nearest Saab garage as soon as
possible to have the fault rectified.
All Saab 900 cars with a B204i/B234i engine and the following chassis
numbers

91 39 239 Adapter housing, oil filter
91 37 993 O-ring
Before taking any further steps, check box B5 of the modification identity plate. If the
box is not marked, continue as follows:

1.

Raise the car and remove the right-hand air
deflector (spoiler).
|
|
2.
|
Remove the oil filter.
|
|
3.
|
Remove the adapter housing.
|
|
4.
|
Clean the sealing surface, removing all gasket remnants.
|
|
5.
|
Apply Loctite 518 to the sealing surface of the adapter housing.
|
|
6.
|
Change the oil pipe's O-ring and fit the adapter housing.
|
|
7.
|
Fit the oil filter and air deflector. Lower the car to the floor.
|
|
8.
|
Check the oil level and top up as necessary.
|
|
9.
|
Warm up the engine and check for leaks.
|
|
Marking the modification identity plate
|
On completion of the necessary measures, box B5 of the modification identity plate
should be marked. If the work was carried out by the importer, mark the box with a
“7”. If done by a dealer, mark it with an “8”.
