To remove


1. Unplug the connector of the sensor that is to be removed.


2. Note how the wiring is run and the locations of any cable ties before removing the wiring.

Important

Before removal of the rear knock sensor's wiring, the alternator and belt tensioner will first have to be removed. If necessary, refer to Service Manual 3:1 for details.

Remove the front knock sensor from above, the rear sensor from underneath the car.



To fit

Before fitting, thoroughly clean the surface of the sensor that is in contact with the engine block.

Tightening torque: 22 Nm (16 lbf ft)

Fit in reverse order.
