P1665
Symptom: None
Injectors 1, 2, 3, 4 or EVAP canister purge valve
Fault symptoms
None
Conditions
One of the control module's integrated circuit output stages is used for checking
injectors 1, 2, 3 and 4 as well as the EVAP canister purge valve. Should an intermittent fault,
an open circuit or a short circuit to ground or battery positive (B+) occur and the control
module cannot determine the exact cause of the fault, diagnostic trouble code P1665 will be
generated. Normally, one of the following diagnostic trouble codes is generated: P1213,
P1214, P1215, P1216, P1225, P1226, P1227, P1228, P1410, P1425 or P1426.
Check the wiring
Intermittent faults may occur as a result of temporary short circuits and breaks in the
wiring. Jiggle the wiring at several points and in different directions to ascertain whether the
wiring harness, including any connectors, is causing the trouble. Observe the multimeter,
ISAT scan tool or test lamp while doing this.
Diagnostic procedure
1. Check other Motronic 4.1 diagnostic trouble codes
-
|
Connect the ISAT Scan
Tool.
|
-
|
Turn the ignition switch to the ON
position.
|
-
|
Select "READ FAULT
CODES".
|
Does the ISAT scan tool show any of the following diagnostic trouble codes:
P1213, P1214, P1215, P1216, P1225, P1226, P1227, P1228, P1410, P1425
or P1426?
Continue fault diagnosis as described for the diagnostic trouble code in
question.
Continue with point 2.
2. Check the electric circuit
-
|
Study and analyse the wiring
diagram. Check the ground connections and power supply (+15 circuit) or connectors in the
common circuit for the injectors and EVAP canister purge valve.
|
Has the cause of the fault been found?
Rectify the fault.
Continue fault diagnosis in accordance with the diagnostic procedure
described for P0601.
