Tank pressure sensor


Warning

Removing the fuel filler pipe entails working on the car's fuel system. The following points must therefore be observed:


To remove


1. Raise the car and remove the RH rear wheel.

2. Clean the area round the filler pipe so that dirt, etc. will not get into it or into the tank.

3. Remove the plastic screw securing the filler pipe to the car body.

4. Undo the hose clips and remove the plastic hose connecting the filler pipe to the fixed pipe on the tank.

5. Unplug the pressure sensor's connector.

6. Lower the car to the floor.


7. Grasp the pipe under the rear wing with one hand and prise the filler pipe off the collar by the filler flap. Use a screwdriver.

8. Withdraw the filler pipe.

9. Remove the pressure sensor.


To fit

Fit in reverse order.

Tightening torque: plastic screw: 1.8 Nm (1.3 lbf ft) hose clip: 2.2 Nm (1.6 lbf ft)

Important

When changing the plastic screw it is important to ensure that the new screw is also made of plastic. In the event of a collision the plastic screw should "give" to avoid damage to the filler pipe, which is also made of plastic.
