Diagnostic procedure

1. Switch on the radio unit. If the motorized aerial goes up the fault is in the aerial cable. Carry out points 1-4 on page .

2. The motorized aerial does not extend Unplug the aerial's two-pin connector. Connect the test lamp to pins 1 and 2 of the female connector. If the radio is switched off the test lamp should light up and stay on. Switch on the radio and check whether the test lamp goes out. If the lamp lights up and goes out as above, the fault is in the aerial which must be changed. Before changing the aerial, check the connector pins for possible slide-out. If the test lamp does not light up`and go out as above, see point 3.

3. Connect the test lamp to pin 2 of the female connector and a good ground. The test lamp should now light up and stay on regardless of whether the radio is switched on or not. If the lamp lights up, see point 4. If it does not, see point 5.

4. Check the wiring harness between pin 1 of the 2-pin female connector and pin 5 of the radio unit terminal A for continuity and shorting.

5. Check the wiring harness between pin 2 of the 2-pin female connector and fuse 4 for continuity.
