The battery cover should be fitted to prolong the service life of the battery in areas with tropical climates.

Procedure |
1. |
Make sure the customer knows the radio code before proceeding if applicable.
|
2. |
Remove the plastic cover on the positive (+) terminal on the battery.
|
3. |
Undo the battery negative lead first and then the positive lead.
|
4. |
Detach the breather hose from the battery if there is one.
|
5. |
Clean and grease the terminals.
|
6. |
Check the electrolyte level in the battery and top up if necessary.
|
7. |
Position the battery cover so that the openings for the leads are situated at the battery terminals. Be careful not to damage the cover.

8. |
Make sure the cover is resting against the battery tray.
|
9. |
Connect the breather hose and then the positive lead on the battery.
Tightening torque for lead with M6 bolt: 4 Nm Tightening torque for lead with M8 bolt: 9 Nm |
10. |
Connect the negative lead on the battery.
Tightening torque for lead with M6 bolt: 4 Nm Tightening torque for lead with M8 bolt: 9 Nm |
11. |
Close the cover cover with the press fasteners.

12. |
Make sure that all three press fasteners are secured properly.

13. |
Set the clock and program the radio code where applicable. Calibrate the ACC system where applicable.
