3-circuit breaking, anti-theft alarm
|
Integral with the anti-theft alarm's electronic control module is a "3-circuit breaking" function which takes over control of the following functions when the alarm is armed. This prevents the engine from being started when the alarm is set off, as follows:
•
|
Starter relay (ignition "ST" +50)
will not receive operating current because +50 is fed to the theft alarm control module (pin 20), which cuts the operating current on pin 8 if a start attempt is made.
|
•
|
Fuel pump relay
will not receive operating current because the theft alarm control module receives a fuel pump signal on pin 21 from the engine management system and then breaks the operating voltage on pin 9 to the fuel pump relay. (The engine will not be supplied with fuel - the car cannot be bump-started either.)
|
•
|
Engine management system
will not receive +15 because the theft alarm control module (pin 22) breaks the current.
|
Connection
3 circuit breaking is connected when the rest of the alarm is armed.
Disconnection
3 Circuit breaking is disconnected when the rest of the alarm is disarmed.
Self-arming, 3 circuit breaking
3 circuit breaking can be independently programmed for self-activation, i.e. automatic arming without the use of the remote control.
Self-arming, theft alarm
The entire theft alarm can also be programmed for self-arming. In this case, 3 circuit breaking is automatically included when the alarm is armed.
See also the "Programming" section for more detailed information.
