      | 1. | Remove the engine covers. 
 
 | 
    
   
  
  
   
    
     
      | 2. | Remove the three front spark plugs/ignition leads. 
 
 | 
    
   
  
  
   
    
     
      | 3. | Remove the air cleaner canister and the induction hose between the canister and the throttle body. 
 
 | 
    
   
  
  
   
    
     
      | 4. | Remove the seven nuts on the upper section of the intake manifold. 
 
 | 
    
   
  
  
   
    
     
      | 5. | Undo the lower bolt on the intake manifold mounting stay and remove the upper bolt. 
 
 | 
    
   
  
  
   
    
     
      | 6. | Unplug the idle speed control valve connector. 
 
 | 
    
   
  
  
   
    
     
      | 7. | Detach the vacuum hose. 
 
 | 
    
   
  
  
   
    
     
      | 8. | Detach the hose to the brake servo on the intake manifold. 
 
 | 
    
   
  
  
   
    
     
      | 9. | Undo the cable channel. 
 
 | 
    
   
  
  
   
    
     
      | 10. | Carefully lift up the upper section of the intake manifold and lay it on the engine. 
 Replace the harness with the new one.
 
 
 | 
    
   
  
  
  
  
   
  
  
  
   
    
     
      | 1. | Fit the new wiring harness. 
 
 
        Check the connector colour codes and lead codes carefully against the wiring diagrams in Service Manual "3:2 Electrical system, Wiring diagrams".
       Refer to "Changing spark plugs/ignition leads MOTRONIC (6-cyl.)" when refitting dismantled parts.
