Gear selector position sensor- starter interlock switch
Gear selector position sensor- starter interlock switch |
On cars with automatic transmission, the starting interlock switch (77) is integrated with the gear selector position sensor.
The switch (77) pins 1 and 5 are used to control the starter relay.
Connector pin 1 is supplied with battery voltage (B+) from fuse 36. On cars with an anti-theft alarm, current is supplied via the anti-theft alarm control module.
In the P and N positions, switch 77 is closed and battery voltage (B+) is supplied to the starting relay.
In all other gear positions, the switch is open, i.e. the starter relay is not supplied with voltage.
