The Trionic system sends throttle position signals to pin 12 of the control module. These signals are PWM signals and always have a pulse ratio of 9%% at idling speed (about 1.2 V) and about 90%% at full throttle (about 12 V).
When the ignition switch is in the ON position but the engine has not been started, the pulse ratio will be 2-7%% and in such case represents the temperature of the engine.
Temperature signals are not used by the Sensonic system.
When the throttle has just left the idling position (PWM 10.5%%), the Sensonic system allows engine-speed dependent engagement of the clutch.

The throttle position sensor is also used for:

Deciding whether the throttle is opened too wide to permit opening (disengagement) of the clutch to change gear.

Activating the "DISENGAGE GEAR" message after about 3 seconds and turning off the engine after about another 7 seconds if neither the brake pedal nor the accelerator is depressed when the car is stationary with a gear engaged. If no signal is present, the "CHECK ACS" warning lamp will light up and the clutch will be engaged at a higher engine speed than normal.
