For environmental reasons a new grease, Mobile Grease K575GS, has been introduced on inboard drive-shaft CV joints of tripode type. This new grease must not be mixed with the old type of grease since chemical reactions could change the characteristics of the grease mixture and seriously reduce its lubricating properties.

| Procedure |
In connection with any work carried out on drive-shaft CV joints of tripode type, all old grease must be removed before they are packed with fresh grease. If the new grease is unobtainable, the following types of grease (not available from Saab Automobile AB) can be used for inboard drive-shaft CV joints of tripode type: Mobile Grease GS57C or Quaker State Multipurpose grease 50221. These greases satisfy all technical requirements but not the new environmental requirements. They must not be mixed with each other.
Outboard drive-shaft joints are not concerned.
